Am I Evil?
Can people really have many or different personality's? I the movie White Oleander, a young lady by the name of Astrid becomes a foster kid who travels between homes because of her mother going to prison for murdering her boyfriend. Astrid's mother is a very bright beautiful lady and she teaches her daughter to be a lot like her and to take nothing fro anyone, especially a man. Well after she went to jail, Astrid goes into foster care and she gets to visit her mother every chance she can. On this particuar visit, Astrid tells her mother what she has been through since she has been in foster care and living with this family that is very disfunctional but tries to cover it in public. She explains that she is baptized and that she believes in God or is beginning to believe and feels very comfortable with everybody. Whenever Astrid says this to her mother, she begins to flip out on Astrid and asks her all o these questions about if she really beleives in God and if she has indeed accepted Christ as her personal savior. when Astrid says that it isn't wrong to believe in it, her mother snaps and asks if she is out of her mind. She feels really offended at the fact that she is believing what these people are feeding her and that she is the one who raised her not a family who is into the bible. Her mother tries to say that she raised her to be her slef and her own person but, Astrid interruots and says that she didn't raise her that way, in fact, she raised Astrid to be just like her mother. Astrid's mother then becomes so angry that she looks as though she wants to hit Astrid. Astrid says then that the reverend spoke to her and he said that thinking fr yourself is evil. As soons as she says that, her mother begins to feel offended and asks her own daughter if she thinks that she is evil, is she evil for thinking for her self because that is what artists do. At this point in the scene, her mother's other personality comes out and is infuriated. She seems as though she has two different ones, a very touching and caring one and a angry, abused, demanding one. The second is very demanding and very intimidating. her demeanor shows her being strong and very forceful. Her personalty disorder counters her later on in the movie.

Anxiety, a lot of people have been there before and experienced this disorder in their lives. Some may have experienced more or have experienced a worse case of the disorder. SOme of the features of the disorder are jumpiness, trembling, inability to relax, dizziness, heart is racing, possible perspiration, and apprenhensiv expectations and thoughts. One of the chractersin the movie shows some signs of this disorder throught her short but, vry important time during th movie. It is the mother of the first family that Astrid was assigned to. The mother is a recovering alcholic and she has turned her life around. She has raised her kids with her new boyfriend of about five years, who is also married to another woman. During this scence, a little after the scence that is above, she is sitting down on Astrid's bed smoking a cigarette, waiting to have a chat with Astrid. while sitting there talking to Astrid, she is very jumpy and very active. Yes, she is angry with what she thinks is happening but she is showing some signs of this disorder. The reason she is sitting on her bed waiting is because she believes that Astrid has a thing for her new boyfriend. It seems as though her actions were somewhat uncontrollable but yet se could control it to a point. Lter on in the movie, she loses it and reverts to violence. She is arguing with he new boyfriend and then all hell breaks loose. She comes running in with a hand gun and tries to kill Astrid. She does indeed shoot her but fails at killing her. This lady showed her anxiety and later on shows a little bit of a multiple personality disorder as well.
